Maternal and Family Counselling

Emily Pollak,  MSW, RSW

I was so excited to hear about Emily Pollak, a Registered Social Worker who specializes in perinatal mental health. Until she moved to the area, the Niagara Region was lacking support in this area. Through her education and her own personal experiences she works with mothers and families to help them face various challenges presented during this time in their lives and aid in their healing.

Prenatal and Postnatal Fitness

Fitmom Niagara

As someone who personally took Fitmom classes after having my second child, I can't say enough about Andrea Page and the classes she teaches at Fitmom Niagara. Andrea has a passion for providing support to moms to be, new moms and veteran moms alike with a variety of fitness classes. With an extensive knowledge base, she educates her clients on the proper techniques to use in preparing for birth as well as healing postpartum. When taking her classes, you not only get a great workout, you connect with Andrea and fellow mothers by sharing your experiences, joys and stresses.

Between Mothers

Angela Sacco, owner of Between Mothers, draws from her experience as a nurse, doula, massage therapist, yoga instructor and mother to provide classes to mothers to be and new mothers. I regularly recommend her prenatal yoga class which teaches women how to use yoga to support their bodies through the common discomforts of pregnancy as well as prepare for labour and delivery.

Breastfeeding Support

Niagara Breastfeeding Center

Kirsten MacAulay, owner of The Niagara Breastfeeding Centre is an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant, as well as an accredited Holistic Nutritionist, Birth Doula and Lactation Educator. She is also a mother of two and experienced some challenges of her own with breastfeeding. She provides a supportive, non-judgemental approach to helping mothers achieve their breastfeeding goals.
